Fender question?

I am re-doing a 1970 bug and have a left rear fender that has already been replaced once. It has had the lower lip at the very back flattened, and has started to rip from vibration. It could be fixed, but my wife has not bought me a welder yet.

Who makes and/or sells the best replacement fender?
I have heard of improper fit, incorrect contours, ect. and want to get the right one.

I kinda agree. The repo fenders are usually "fair" quaility at best. Your BEST bet is to find some OG fenders in half-way decent shape & have 'em repaired. That could be difficult & expensive.
The next best thing is a PAIR of repo fenders from Italy or Brazil. Get a pair so that they match.
One of the magazines did a fender 101 recently, and the 1/2003 issue of HVW has an article on fender repair.
Good Luck
