This is a completely restored bus with a new motor. Problem is that it only goes for about a hundred miles then dies. Leave it alone for the night and itll start up in the morning for a while. Thought it might be the fuel system. Put in a new tank and filter, cleaned all that shit out. same thing. Its been like this always. what the hell do we do?

There is a noticeble smell of gas inside the vehicle when it is running. the more you push it the more you notice it. I dont know if it is related. Id really like it to go away tooo.

Welcome to the forum. Right now, two things come to my mind:

1. Check the temp. sensors
2. Check the O2 sensor

If either of them is faulty or there's any air entering the intake system from any other point (a vacuum leak), you'll get a wrong fuel mixture which could cause your problem.

The ECU rarely goes bad, sometimes the electrical connections do get dirty though. Check your fuel pressure to make sure your pump is putting out the correct amount of pressure at idle and under varying throttle conditions.

Got a Bentley? If not, now's the moment to get one.

Let us know what happens.

btw, where are you from?

You said the engine is new. I'm curious - who rebuilt it?
